Family Mediator – Business and Resolution Services team in Edmonton

Are you a skilled Family Mediator with experience helping families resolve parenting, guardianship, and child support disputes? Join the Business and Resolution Services team in Edmonton and make a meaningful impact supporting families through challenging transitions.

Key Responsibilities
• Assess and screen cases for mediation suitability.
• Facilitate family mediation using a client-focused, ethical, and non-evaluative approach.
• Conduct pre-mediation sessions, identify safety concerns, and provide resources to clients.
• Support parties in reaching agreements that prioritize the best interests of children.
• Manage high-conflict situations and prepare written summaries of agreements.
• Collaborate with Family Court Counsellors, government departments, and community agencies.
• Participate in public education, outreach, and professional development activities.

Salary: $1,436.10 to $1,856.44 bi-weekly ($37,482 to $48,453 annually)

Qualifications
Applicants must have a minimum of 180 hours of mediation, alternative dispute resolution, or conflict management training, including at least 40 hours in family mediation, separation, or divorce.
In addition, candidates must have one of the following:
• Bachelor of Social Work with related experience;
• Master of Social Work;
• Related degree (e.g., Dispute Resolution, Sociology, Psychology, Law) plus 2 years of related experience;
• Related diploma plus 3 years of related experience; or
• Related certificate plus 4 years of related experience.
